Pakistan Puts An End To Indian Premier League: Protest Of The Pulwama Terror Attack

After a month of banning the live telecast of Pakistan Super League (PSL) by India, Pakistan has now responded by freezing the broadcast of 12th edition of IPL, starting from March 23 in Chennai. confirmed by country’s Information and Broadcasting minister Fawad Chaudhry.

This result has came due to stopping the coverage of Pakistan tournament by DSport, the officer broadcaster of PSL matches in India, following the protest of Pulwama Attack that killed 40 CRPF Jawans. Indian company IMG Reliance had also prohibited to produce the television coverage of the PSL forcing the Pakistan-based T20 league to find a new production company midway into the tournament.

The Pulwana terror attack incident was the deadliest terrorist action in J&K. 40 CRPF Jawans lost their life and few were battling against their lives. Pakistan-based terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack.

People were gossiping about India boycotting Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2019. The ICC guaranteed the security arrangements. Because National security and our soldiers life are most important, So, Cricket and Terrorism cannot go hand in hand.

“During the PSL, the way the Indian companies and the government treated Pakistan cricket… after that, we can’t tolerate that IPL is shown in Pakistan,” Chaudhry told a Pakistan news channel.

Fawad also blamed the Indian team for not keeping the politics and cricket apart. The Pakistan Cricket Board had recently urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take action against the Indian cricket team for wearing army caps during an ODI in a five-match series against Australia. However , ICC had confirmed that BCCI had taken prior permission of wearing caps. Also, the minister was very confident of the loss of IPL and Indian cricket team as he banned its broadcasting in Pakistan and declared pakistan as “superpower of international cricket“. It also seems that India wants ICC to remove Pakistan from world cup match which will be a very controversial statement.

The upcoming edition of the IPL will be starting from March 23 to May 4. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chepauk in IPL opener. The plan was delivered in parts by the BCCI on account of the General Elections which will he held around the same time. The final group match will be played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.
