New Delhi | Prime Minister, Narendra Modi modified his twitter handle to “Chowkidar Narendra Modi” on Sunday, a day after inaugurating the “Mein Bhi Chowkidar” campaign. Within minutes following him, many chief ministers of BJP ruled states and union ministers prefix the title “Chowkidar” to their name in their twitter handle.
‘Mein Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign has been started with a desire of taking a jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi who has freed a ‘chowkidar chor hai’ campaign at his election rallies to defame the image of Modi. Rahul has been pointing the PM over the Rafale deal with the ‘chowkidar chor hai’ statement.
After the Lok sabha elections are announced “mai bhi chowkidar” campaign has started to show its colors , be it on social media platforms or the tongue of common man

Several BJP chief ministers, including Uttarakhand CM Trivdendra Singh Rawat and Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das, also renamed their twitter handle. With the tweet, the Prime Minister had also motivated people saying, ‘Take The Pledge’, to support him on March 31 at 6 pm for a video programm titled ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’. With respect to reports, the BJP strategists have decided to launch this campaign on the basis of survey and audit analysis.
