Muslim League Finds Path To EC for Yogi’s “Virus” Remark For Congress

New Delhi | Due to the verbal duel sparked off by the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for Muslim League as a “virus” after Congress chief Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from Wayanad in Kerala, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Saturday, April 6, complaint against Yogi for his comment to the Election Commission.

The Indian Union Muslim League is a political party in India. It is recognized by the Election Commission of India as a State Party in Kerala. It has an MLA in Tamil Nadu. The IUML is a member of the Congress-led United Democratic Front in Kerala from long time. Muslim League leaders Khorram A Omer and Haris Beeran engaged with Election Commission to take some action against Yogi’s comment. Congress also hits back, saying it was he who was a “virus” that would be “eradicated” in the election.

The Muslim League was founded in 1906 to safeguard the rights of Indian Muslims. It is pledged to the Constitutional values of secularism and democracy and it never entertained in the communal propaganda or anything adverse to the principle of the nation.

“We met ECI to file a complaint in regards to claims made by UP CM and by Delhi MLA MS Sirsa. They called us terrorists, virus and all kind of things. BJP troll army is behind it. We have asked EC to file FIR, they are going to look into the matter and immediately respond to us,” IUML national secretary Khorram Anis Omer.


Yogi also hit at the 1857 movement for freedom and Mangal Pandey who played a keen role in events preceding the outbreak of Indian rebellion. “In 1857, entire country fought against Britishers with Mangal Pandey, then this Muslim League virus came and spread in such a way that the country was divided,” he said. He mentioned that the same hazard happening in the country again. Green flags are once again furled. Congress is suffering from Muslim league virus, needs to be alert.

In contrast with Yogi’s statement, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala termed the Chief Minister bhogi. “A virus named ‘Bhogi’ Adityanath has hung development in the largest State of Uttar Pradesh. People of Uttar Pradesh did correct that virus during the by-elections to some Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. The virus will be completely eradicated in this Lok Sabha election,” he said.

Also, IUML MP P.K Kunhalikutty, member of parliament Lok Sabha on Friday attacked Yogi for hitting at Rahul Gandhi as Gandhi takes decision keeping all Indians equal for him but Yogi does not have the mind to treat all Indians equal. He also added that BJP cannot stop winning Gandhi from Wayanad. Now, let’s see the head is in whose hands.
