Amethi | On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi went to file nominations in Amethi, while he was interacting with the media after filling nominations; a green laser was pointed at him which can be clearly seen in the video. The Congress is suspecting that the green laser can be from a sniper rifle targeting the party’s President.
As per the Congress, the green laser was pointed 7 times at Rahul Gandhi’s head. Regarding this matter the Congress party three senior leaders, Ahmed Patel, Jairam Ramesh, and Randeep Singh Surjewala have written to the minister of home affairs (MHA). They have asked the center to “probe and neutralize the threat if any” and they have also asked to follow the protocol related to the Rahul Gandhi’s security. They also blamed the Uttar Pradesh Government for their negligence. In the letter, they had also sent the video clip where Rahul can be seen interacting with the media personnel and the green laser can be seen pointing on his head. In the letter, they also said that they have examined the footage and four security people said that it could have been from a sniper rifle.
In Rahul Gandhi’s family, his grandmother Indira Gandhi, his father Rajiv Gandhi were assassinated that’s why Rahul Gandhi is an SPG (Special Protection Group) protected person. The Special protection group is an armed force provided by the union government for providing security to the Prime Minister of India and former Prime Ministers and members of their immediate families throughout the world.
But the ministry of home affairs denied receiving any letter of that sort. But they said they have consulted to the SPG director, who said that the light was from a cell phone and there is no security issue or risk of the life of the Congress President.
According to a spokesperson of MHA, the green laser was not from any sniper gun, it was from a mobile phone used by an AICC photographer who was shooting the media interaction of Mr. Rahul Gandhi near the collectorate in Amethi. He also said this was informed to the personal staff of Mr. Rahul Gandhi.
Last year, while campaigning during Karnataka’s assembly election the aircraft which Rahul Gandhi had boarded developed multiple faults, at that time also the Congress had raised the issues of lifetime risk of Rahul Gandhi. But the Civil aviation regulator DGCA said it was not of that sought, it was a problem with autopilot mode which at that time was sorted by the pilot.
Two murder has happened in Rahul Gandhi’s family that’s the reason why congress party and Rahul Gandhi is extra careful.
