NEW DELHI | On Monday, April 15, Supreme Court sit up and took a notice to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi to cast a clarification on using a court to put a remark ”chowkidar chor hai” at BJP on Rafale controversy.
A deal for 36 Rafale fighter jets has forced the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress in tangles. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has defamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi of peddling lies at a rally. The notice was issued by SC chief Ranjan Gogoi after filing the case by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi in the Supreme Court against Gandhi for the wrong construction of the court’s order in the Rafale deal. Supreme Court has asked Rahul to give explaination on the same remark by April 22 so that next hearing could be at April 23.
BJP leader Prakash Javadekar hit at Congress remarking that earlier people thought Rahul is making such decisions and contradictions because of his misunderstanding but now people realised that he is playing game with BJP. “The Supreme Court has exposed Gandhi’s lie. He lies daily and one of those lies has been exposed…. People are demanding that he tender an apology,” Javadekar said.
BJP also asked Congress to bend in front of nation for speaking all fishy words. In the controversy, “Congress is all about jhoot and loot”, Javadekar added. He alleged Congress of always telling lie and stealing from the country. He also put a notice to Congress’ corruption strategy in the nation which left hurt the people.
The BJP requested the EC to take action against Rahul’s remarks for Prime Minister Narendra Modi that even the “Supreme Court agrees that chowkidar is a chor“. The SC said it never dealt with the issue, but was only dealing with admissibility of documents in the Rafale case and remarked the views of Rafale verdict of Rahul as incorrect. Other BJP leaders also claimed Congress for using such harsh words like ‘chor’.
