LUCKNOW | At last, the politicians have not spared the students too. The Christ Church college in Lucknow on Sunday, April 7, vowed students to urge their parents to vote for Lok Sabha elections 2019 for scoring extra 10 marks in total to increase the polling rate.
For the upcoming day of polling in Lucknow, various schools are following different strategies to get active participation of students in voting by launching campaigns, keeping debates, poster making competition to promote polling. There is no other way left by the politicians such that they are using this disgusting way.
“Ten marks will be added to those students’ final results whose parents will vote in the elections,” said RK Chattree, Principal .
Other schools are also following same methods to indulge everyone in voting. The politicians have left their way out, they just want to win votes by corruption, not by reputation. Students are also forced to do these activities for getting good marks. It has not only remarked this nasty way, but also remains students for focusing on their studies.
“Voting is the expression of commitment to self and to the country. We appeal to all the parents to exercise their right to vote. The college promises to award 10 marks to the students’ final result whose parents will vote”, banner put by school
Christ Church College was earlier a small crowded Indian School with only two students studying at Cantonment Road, Lucknow. It was founded by Mr. H. McConoghey in 1878. The School was registered under the name of Christ Church McConoghey School Society, Lucknow under the societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and governed by the Diocese of Lucknow C.N.I. having its head office at 25 M.G. Road, Allahabad.
The foundation stone of Christ Church College at the present site was launched on 31st January 1939 by Lady Haig. This school was only up to class VIII for many years, but in 1967 it had extended to an intermediate college.
The district administration is already working hard to increase the percentage of polling. In 2014 Lok Sabha election, only 58.44% votes were polled in the state. Now, some measures are continuously taken to increase the poll percentage in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.
