Delhi | On Saturday Finance minister, Arun Jaitley denounced the JSD and congress ministers for raising objections against the income tax office for carrying out searches on PWD contractors and engineers.
The point to consider is that on thursday Chief minister of Karnataka H D Kumaraswamya with the Congress ministers protested against the income tax department in Bengaluru for carrying out the searches on the contractors and engineers.
Jaitley probe when there was no politician or minister searched then what was the protest for. He doubts the protest by JSD and congress ministers.
On facebook he wrote in one of his posts that Bengaluru’s case is indistinguishable to UPS on two grounds: using the money of government and then circuiting it through contractors and beneficiaries and then ultimately using it for their own. Second is to lip federalism structure but destroying it whenever it goes in their gain. “UPA makes corruption a cause” he said in his blog.
Jaitley said that it was prodigious that a chief minister influenced by the politics protested again the searches carried out on the contractors and engineers. Here the question rises was the PWD contractor nephew of minister if it was a case of nepotism. Jailtey said ” the chief minister along with other protesting ministers have to answer this question”
Jaitley also said that JDS and the Congress leaders in state have accused that ministers were searched but the only evidence they gave was for minister’s nephew. Jaitley said that even tax authorities stated no MP, MLA or minister was searched.
FM said that this attitude of state is a threat to federalism. He said that this structure of federalism isn’t only for the rights of the state but indian federalism is union of state and in this centre is equally important.
When the state police is asked for security the leak out the information to the political government and then it reaches to the target. In this situation the tax authorities have to rely on central forces. He said the taxes are collected for the welfare of poor in our country.
