NEW DELHI | In response to the question posted on her social site on behalf of the Indian Man Stabbed to Death near Munich in Germany , Swaraj tweeted her personal concerns on Saturday, March 30 and known for her wit on Twitter.
An Indian couple Prashant and Smita Basarur were stabbed by an immigrant near Munich. Unfortunately, Prashant has expired. Smita is stable. “We are facilitating the travel of Prashant’s brother to Germany”, Swaraj said on Saturday.

In his question, the person wrote, “Ma’,m we thought you were our Foreign Minister. The only one most sensible in BJP. Why do you call yourself Chowkidar.”
Meanwhile, asked by a Twitter user why she, the “most sensible” BJP leader, had added the ‘chowkidar‘ prefix to her name on the microblogging site, Swaraj tweeted, “Because I am doing Chowkidari of Indian interests and Indian nationals abroad“. The person was replying to her tweet regarding the death of an Indian in a stabbing incident in Munich.
Swaraj is known for her personal engagement with people on Twitter in addressing their concerns. This is one of the primary reasons that make her popular on the social media platform. Swaraj began her political career with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in the 1970. She has been elected seven times as a Member of Parliament and three times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. At the age of 25 in 1977, she became the youngest cabinet minister of north Indian state of Haryana. She also served as 5th Chief Minister of Delhi. She is only the second woman to hold the position of implementing foreign policy of Narendra Modi after Indira Gandhi.
In 2017, a Twitter user had written to her on the micro-blogging site saying, “I am stuck on mars, food sent via Mangalyaan (987 days ago), is running out, when is Mangalyaan-II being sent ? @isro”. In response, Swaraj had tweeted that Even if he his stuck on the Mars, Indian Embassy there will help him.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the “Main Bhi Chowkidar” (I too am a watchman) campaign to worn the Congress’s “Chowkidar Chor Hai” (the watchman is a thief) jibe at him.
