New Delhi | In an audio address on Wednesday PM Modi gave a reply to Congress President Rahul Gandhi that the comment “Chowkidar chor hain<\/strong>” is an insult to chowkidars everywhere but the ‘gallis’ (bad words) would be embraced and worn as badges of honor. PM also said that the word Chowkidar has now become synonymous to Honesty and Patriotism.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around half an interaction with around 25 lakhs chowkidars, PM Modi said “abusing chowkidars and calling them chor is an insult to the chowkidars of the nation. I apologize to all chowkidars that some people, for their own interests, have been abusing chowkidars and saying chowkidar chor hai, raising questions about the dedication of chowkidars of the nation<\/strong>.” This was actually a reply to the jibe which was given by Rahul Gandhi on March 9th,2019 regarding the Rafale deal controversy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Modi Starts “Mai Bhi Chowkidar” Campaign<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Rafale deal controversy<\/em><\/strong> is a politicized defence deal in India related to the purchase of 36 multirole fighters aircraft for a price estimated at \u20ac7.8 billion by the Defence Ministry of India from France’s Dassault Aviation. The origin of the deal lies in the Indian MRCA competition, a multi-billion dollar contract to supply 126 multi-role combat aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF).
While campaigning for 2017 Gujarat Legislative assembly election, Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of Rafale deal to attack Narendra Modi. He repeated the allegations of price escalation and favouritism towards Reliance Defence Limited. Because of this on 9th March, he said, “chowkidar chor hain”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of this Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started “Main bhi chowkidar<\/strong>” campaign, for this he has prefixed his name by the word chowkidar in twitter. Following this other BJP leaders like Sushma Swaraj, Amit shah, Arun Jaitely also did the same thing what PM did. Modi has started this campaign and has asked people to support him to fight against corruption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BJP has released caller tunes on this main Bhi chowkidar hun to connect with the people. The ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ caller tune can be availed at all leading cellular networks such as Airtel, Vodafone-Idea and Reliance Jio by dialing on specified numbers of each of these service providers. On March 31st PM will again interact with the people on this campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
