Priyanka Chaturvedi Walks Out Of Congress And Signs Up With Shiv Sena

New Delhi | High Profile Spokesperson of the Congress  Party, Priyanka Chaturvedi gave her resignation from the Congress on 18th April evening and on 19th April afternoon she joined the Marathi Regional Party, Shiv Shena.

There can be two reasons behind Priyanka Chaturvedi leaving Congress. One is she was not happy with the behavior of the Congress party members. And the second one can be she is annoyed with the Congress as she wanted a ticket from the North Mumbai but that ticket was given to the Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar.

When Priyanka was asked that the reason behind her leaving the Congress party is because she was retracted from the North Mumbai Seat. To this she replied, she was expecting a ticket from the North Mumbai seat but for that, she is not disappointed with the Party. Few days’ back Priyanka went to Mathura to attend an official press conference on the Rafale deal; that time Priyanka and other Congress party members were doing press meet at different parts of the country on the Rafale deal. When she was in Mathura she accused 8 members of the Congress party to misbehave with her. According to sources, when Priyanka left the press meet the members of the Congress Party followed her to her room.

Disliking the behavior of the party member, she decided to raise a complaint with the peak leaders of the Congress Party. The eight members who were involved in this incident are Ashok Chakleshwar, Umesh Pandit, Pratap Singh, Abdul Jabbar, Girdhari Lal Pathak, Bhuri Singh Jayas, Pravin Thakur and Yatindra Mukadam. Prompt actions were taken against these eight members and they were suspended from the party after Priyanka’s complaint. But on 15th April all of them were again brought back into the party after giving a strict warning and they too gave a written apology for their behavior towards Priyanka.

All this was done by the leader of the Congress Party in western UP who involved himself to solve the matter, by taking the 8 members back and giving an apology letter to Priyanka was his way of solving the problem.  Upset with this,  on Wednesday she tweeted, “Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get preference in @incindia over those who have given their sweat and blood. Having faced brickbats and abuse across the board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate.”

On Thursday evening she submitted her resignation letter to the President of the Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi. After giving her resignation she posted the same on her Twitter account and left all the ties with Congress. She left the WhatsApp groups of her party, removed her designation of AICC spokesperson from her Twitter profile.

Shiv Sena lays a red carpet for Priyanka Chaturvedi :

On Friday, the Shiv Sena called a press meet to announce the involvement of Priyanka Chaturvedi in their party. The press meet was held at the resident of the Shiv Sena chief  Uddhav Thackeray. In the meeting, she told she left Congress to save her self-pride. She also told that Congress encourages so much on the dignity, safety, and empowerment of women but that does not reflect in the actions of some leaders of the Congress party. The chief of Shiv Sena by welcoming her said, Priyanka does not need an introduction, everyone knows her. Then he continued and said, the party would give her important responsibility as per her capability to work not only in Mumbai but also throughout the Country.

Congress member’s reaction:

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala in a press meet in New Delhi said, “Every time a party member leaves, it’s a matter of pain for us. People look for career progression. We wish all of them well, including Priyanka Chaturvedi…I must frankly and on record concede, yes, it’s a reflection on my leadership.”

Happy on returning to her “janambhumi” Mumbai which will now be her “karmbhumi”, she said there cannot be a more appropriate party than Shiv Sena in Mumbai to work with.
